It was a big, exciting week at Mecca Camp Resort as we celebrated Easter with family, presented our plans to the Monroe County Planning Commission, finished off more bathrooms, made a trip to Kentucky and ordered a custom counter top.
Happy Easter
Christ Is Risen! From our family to yours, we would like to wish you a Happy Easter and we pray that you were lucky enough to have friends and family close for such a magical day! Today was a wonderful day for us as we attended a beautiful church service and enjoyed an Easter meal with my parents Don and Jane, as well as our youngest son Nate.
Plans Approved
This week we had an incredibly positive meeting with the Monroe County Planning Commission where we presented our plans and approach for Mecca Camp Resort. Our goal was to obtain approval to begin the development of the resort and begin excavation as our pool is scheduled to arrive April 26th and our Glamping Tents are already in route.
We are extremely happy to report that our meeting went fantastic and we were able to gain APPROVAL from the planning commission to press forward with progress on Mecca Camp Resort! We are extremely excited to be able to take the next step forward on development!
The Monroe County Advocate & Democrat was in attendance at the meeting and should be publishing an article this week about the meeting.
Renovation Activities
Our buddy Dean Donnelly and my Dad have continued to be busy at work on the transformation of the kennel spaces into the bathhouse. We now have the laundry room complete, three bathrooms and a shower completed. We are just about there and couldn't be happier with the progress!
Additionally, this week we drove up to Kentucky to pick up a batch of wine barrels, which will function as the pedestals in the bathrooms for the sink and washbasins. They will look so cool and were well worth the trip!
Custom Countertop
This week we started looking at some finishing touches regarding the camp store and office. As such, we are extremely happy that we have purchased a custom-made cedar counter-top from Everhart Lumber Company in Tellico Plains. We are so excited for this to be added to our camp store and office for everyone to enjoy!
Closing
From our family to yours... Christ Is Risen Indeed! Happy Easter! Please stay healthy and be good to one another! We look forward to seeing you soon at Mecca Camp Resort!
