While construction continues on the bathhouse for the third straight week, we inch closer to a finalized Master Plan as we engage in discussions with a Civil Engineering firm to consult about Waste Water Management!
Oh yeah... and Julia's parents made a surprise first visit to Mecca Camp Resort this week!
It was a great week!
Bathhouse Renovations
Things in the bathhouse are inching their way closer to completion as the end is in sight with framing work and we have begun to run water lines throughout the facility. Tomorrow, our electrician comes back to finish up wiring for each restroom stall and shower in the bathhouse, which includes a dedicated breaker panel, GFCI outlets, light switches and fans. Last week, he was onsite installing lights in the hallway! Alas... we have light and can do work in the evenings, which was fantastic!
In a couple of weeks, we will have two new external doors installed for access to the bathhouse! One door will provide access from the pool area, while the other will provide a handicap accessible entrance for our guests.
Waste Water Management
As we are working towards the completion of the Master Plan with our Architect, Waste Water Management has become a real concern, both with our existing septic system and the design of the new one to accommodate the RV and Glamping Spaces! Who knew that handling crap could be so painfully expensive!
This week we had a civil engineering firm on-site to begin discussions regarding our plans for Mecca Camp Resort. The first step in the process will be an evaluation of our current septic system and its ability to handle the additional capacity coming from the renovated bathhouse facility. The State of Tennessee has some pretty significant specifications for systems of this size, and we are working to ensure we meet all of these requirements appropriately.
Visit From Gary and Karen!
On Monday, we had a nice phone call from Julia's parents! They let us know they were coming down from Nebraska to visit us here in Tellico Plains for the week. They arrived on Wednesday and it was an awesome visit! We were able to show them around our beautiful area to include Ball River Falls, Indian Boundary, Citico Creek, downtown Sweetwater and the Monroe County Airport. Next time they said they will fly down as Julia's Dad is a Private Pilot. Future Trivia Question: Julia is a licensed pilot as well!
For those of you who don't know Gary... the man is like Rainman with a Tractor! As a result, he was able to help me reposition some concrete slabs and pull some fencing poles out of the ground, cement still in tact! He also helped me install barrier poles around our propane tank, which was required by our insurance company.
Closing
From our family to yours, we wish you all a wonderful week! We will continue to be banging away in that bathhouse and will have more to report next week as we are diligently trying to get in front of the Monroe County Planning Commission in February!
We look forward to seeing you soon at Mecca Camp Resort! May God Bless You!
