Thank you to everyone who reached out to us about Hurricane Helene. We had lots of rain and a bit of wind, but thankfully, we made it through with just one fallen tree, and aside from that, it’s back to business as usual.
If you already have reservations, we encourage you to keep your plans. The Skyway and Tail of the Dragon are still open, and the roads heading south to Copper Hill, Blue Ridge, and Helen, GA are open as well. We've noticed a few cancellations and have had a few calls since the hurricane, but there are still plenty of reasons to visit!
A few things to keep in mind over the next couple of months:
If you're coming to the area, consider bringing extra water, cleaning supplies, diapers, bottles, etc. We’re collecting these items to send to those affected in North Carolina and Northeast Tennessee, with collection points right here in Tellico Plains.
Local businesses in Tellico Plains rely heavily on fall tourism to make it through the winter. After last year’s flood and the Cherohala Skyway being closed for six weeks, it’s been a tough year for the community. Your support would mean the world to everyone here.
Mecca Camp Resort is a proud member of the Outdoor Hospitality Industry, an organization that provides relief funds to campgrounds impacted by natural disasters. If you’re interested in donating to help other campgrounds recover, here is the link.
The amount of support and comfort we’ve received from our customers, guests, and friends has been truly humbling and we Thank You from the bottom of our hearts! We couldn’t do what we love to do without each and every one of you!
Safe Travels and Prayers to all affected by this disaster!
With sincere gratitude,
Chris & Julia Jones
