Painting Never Ends

Painting is one of those tasks that both Julia and I dislike the most. It's like driving I-70 through Kansas, it never seems to end! Thankfully, my Dad finds it peaceful and calming, and he has been a workhorse with the paintbrush. This week we continued to paint, wrapping up one of the sides of the building while the weather was good. Although we hate doing it, it is one of the most transformative things you can do to a building or a house. The effort spent painting has really brought new energy to this place! People around town talk about it, which is incredibly nice to see everyone noticing the effort we are putting in.

Parents House Update

This week saw more progress to my parent's house as water lines were tested, pictures were taken for final updates, skirting was ordered and the electric company was onsite to identify how electricity will be run to the house. This week, we should hopefully see electricity and skirting installed.

Additionally, I had two dump truck loads of gravel delivered so I could grade a road to my parent's house on the property. It actually turned out pretty good and I'm getting better and better with the controls on my tractor. I also have finally given my tractor a name.... I'm calling it "Big Blue"!

Time to Relax & Let Loose

This weekend, we kinda needed some time to relax and unwind. We have been going non-stop since we've been here, so yesterday evening we went to one of our favorite places... Iron Works Grille for an event they were hosting, called BeersGiving! It was exactly what the doctor ordered... Bonfires, Live Music, Good Food and spiked hot chocolate! We met some great people and had a really nice time.

Julia and I also decided to take a drive today and went down to Chattanooga where we had a nice brunch and walked along the riverfront. Chattanooga is a neat town! We will definitely make sure we spend some time to get to know the bigger cities around us!

Happy Turkey Day!

With Thanksgiving approaching this week, we are extremely excited that our kids will be coming to visit. We can't wait to roll out the red carpet and eat our way to a food coma just in time to watch terrible football teams play each other on Thursday in standard tradition.

From our family to yours, we wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and can't wait for you to visit us at Mecca Camp Resort!
